Australian Card Maker of the Year

The news is out and I can finally tell everyone........ I have been voted Australian Card Maker of the year by Practical Publishing and Australian Simply Cards...WOW!! They had the largest number of entries ever and there are so many amazing cards!  I had to submit three and I chose a range of different techniques.  The photos and details can be found in Australian Simply Cards on sale this Thursday and of course many of you have copies already as you are subscribers! My prizes are so generous, $2,500 of products and a place on the magazines Design Team.  What an incredible accolade!!

Oh So Lovely Collection

"Oh So Lovely" is the sweetest collection and just perfect for all feminine papercrafting projects. I love it all and had the best time playing with it. “Ruby”     Kaisercraft products used: Patterned Papers: P1791 Woman. Collectables CT823. Pearls SB787 Hot Pink. Chipboard Alpha 2 CB108. Other Products Used: Kindy Glitz – clear. “A Mothers Love” With Mothers Day just around the corner, I thought I would create a sweet card and this collection is just perfect.       For my card base I used Decorative Die Doilies (DD504). I laid this die so that it was just above the fold line of my square kaisercraft card (see pic below) and rolled it through my Big S

“Single Moment” Layout by Collette A simple layout to showcase a beautiful photo of my mother.   Kaisercraft Products Used:  Antique Bazaar – Patterned Paper: P1804 Character; P1801 Limited. CT824 Collectables. Sticker Sheet SS279. Clear Stamps: CS213 Chase Rainbows; CS855 Texture – Scallop Lace. Ink Pad IP724 Bark. Paper Booms Mini: F669 Fire Red. Sparklets: RS411 Cameo. Wooden Flourishes: FL510 Intricate Corners; FL476 Palm Leaves. T325 Glue Runner; T303 Foam Tape. Other Products Used: Glossy Accents “Dutch Fold Card” by Collette   Instructions Cut card base 8″ x 7 1/8″. Score on 8″ side at 2″ and 6″. Rotate and score on 7 1/8″ side at 2 3/8″ and 4 6/8″. Cut out top two segment on each side, (see pic above). Fold and decorate using the gorgeous Antique Bazaar papers and collectables. All my papers came from the 6 1/2″ paper pad, just perfect for card making! Kaisercraft Products Used:  Kaisercard: CD108 Coffee Bean. Paper Pad  

Bigshot Embossing Folder Techniques

Check out my videos to show you the techniques and have fun following the step by step instructions for three fun cards!     https://youtu.be/5an1tvbQYmU https://youtu.be/U5Ookag8rUY ‘Orange Doiley’     Instructions Cut ‘Papaya’ Kaiser card (CD128) to 4″ x 6″ and adhere to a white C6 card, (CD 511). Cut ‘Chedder’ Kaiser Card (CD124) to 3 7/8″ x 5 7/8″ and adhere to Card front. Cut smooth white card stock (CD650) to 3 3/4″ x 5 3/4″. Ink up and stamp doiley stamp (CS213), using Tangello  (IP729) and Saffron ( IP728). Stamp sentiments (CS213) using ‘Tangello’  (IP729) and ‘Lagoon’ ink pad (IP 727). Emboss top and bottom with ‘Flourish’ Embossing Folder ( EF206). Score lines on edge of embossing. Colour embossed design with markers. Attach twine and button. Adhere decorated white mat with Foam Tape (T303). Dot stamped doiley with clear kindy glitz. ‘Butterfly’   Instructions Cut a C6 Kaiser card (CD511) to 4″ wide by 6″

Kaisercraft Chase Rainbow Collection

“Special Times”  Layout by Collette A quick, clean and simple page to remind me of my sons graduation. The ‘memories’ tab pulls out to remind me of all the details! The blue patterned paper was cut to 11″ x 11″; the white card was cut to 8″ x 8″ and I used a 5″ wide by 7″ tall photo. As always, I sanded the edges of the photo to make it pop a bit! Kaisercraft Design Team 2015 Entry

I cannot believe that I have been on the Kaisercraft Design Team for a year....time really does fly when you are having fun. It is my first and only Design Team and was very daunting to begin with. It did not take long to feel like one of the family, the other members were fabulous and so inspiring and Kaisercraft were incredibly helpful.  It has truly been awesome, it has re-ignited my papercraft passion and it has been a honour to be associated with such a generous and professional company. When the call came out for the 2015 entry it took me only a second to decide...of course I would love to continue with this fabulous Design team. So here are my round one entries. I have to submit a  Layout, a Beyond the Page/Altered Item and a Mixed Media item or card.  Please let me know what you think, my fingers will be crossed, there are so many amazingly talented papercrafters out there!
